Day 1: Santa Maria – biking
You’ll get picked up in the morning from your accommodation and drive for 3,5 hours to the top of the Malaga Mountain, at an altitude of 4,315 meters. Don’t worry, you won’t stay long at this high altitude because this is where the adventure starts! Here you’ll go down by bike for 4 hours with many stops in local villages and beautiful scenery. In Santa Maria you’ll get a nice lunch and after that you can choose: or you walk the rest of the way to the lodge or there’s the option to do rafting on the Urubamba river.

Day 2: Santa Teresa – hiking
At 6 am you wake up for a delicious breakfast with local coffee, so you’re ready to start the beautiful hike of 15 km in Santa Teresa. You’ll hike on original parts of the Inca Trail and along the way your guide will explain some of the history and what was the purpose of this trail. You will go up to the mountains with beautiful views, and after lunch it gets easier, because you’ll walk down until you reach the town of Santa Teresa. Here you can enjoy the nice hot springs of Cocalmayo to relax those muscles.

Day 3: Aguas Calientes – zip-lining
This day you’ll start with a choice: you can either hike for 3 hours or do the zip-line. You’ll get lunch in Hidroeléctrica and then continue along the railway of the Inca Trail. After 3 hours of walking you’ll arrive to the village of Aguas Calientes. This is where the trek ends and the highlight of the trip starts: your visit to Machu Picchu! On this third day you get to explore the little village and get enough rest for the big day.

Day 4: Machu Picchu
Finally you’ll visit Machu Picchu. First you’ll get a guided tour and after this you can enter a second time to walk around freely, take your pictures, and walk to the Sun Gate or the Inca Bridge.
